Ty and I traveled to Lexington, KY this past weekend to celebrate with Will and Claire on their wedding day at the Apiary downtown! With Hurricane Florence in the forecast (and an uncertain path of the storm) we made a quick audible and canceled our flights. We decided to make an 8.5 hour road trip out of the adventure instead! We were too nervous that we’d get stuck in the airport since we had a layover and didn’t want to risk potentially missing any part of the wedding weekend we were set to film! So we packed up our bags last Tuesday night and set out on the road early Wednesday morning. And it was a straight shot down Interstate 64 all the way to Kentucky! It’s so crazy to me to think that a road could go on for that long, haha!

We loved working alongside Melanie from Melanie Mauer Photography!

Some would say Will and Claire met by chance! Claire had recently began her residency at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Having spent the majority of her life and college experience in Kentucky, this was quite a new experience for her! As if all this newness wasn’t enough, she signed up for a dating app just to see what would happen. And soon after, she matched with Will. She was hesitant at first to go out on a date. But, with the encouragement of a close friend, she went. And thankfully, she and Will hit it off pretty quickly!

Ty and I loved celebrating with these two! It’s always so fun to explore a new place and even more fun to a capture a sweet love story there! We can’t wait to share more of their incredible film with you soon. But until then, enjoy this fun sneak peek!
