So many of our couples have been college sweethearts this year and we LOVE it!! Ty and I are college sweethearts as well and there’s something so beautiful about meeting the one you’ll spend the rest of your life with during some of the most transformative years of your life.

Ethan and Anisha met at James Madison University. They lived in the same dorm their freshman year but their relationship didn’t become “official” until their junior year. Fast forward 5 years into dating and Ethan knew it was time to propose.

Ethan told Anisha that one of their good friends had a recital at JMU that they were going to see. Little did Anisha know this was actually a “cover” to get her back on campus (where it all began) so that Ethan could propose to her. Ethan texted a few friends so that they would be “in on” his plans and could talk with Anisha about the recital so that she wouldn’t be suspicious of anything.

Once on campus, they started to walk around the quad. A student stopped them and told them that he worked for the college newspaper and was doing an article on couples at JMU. They told him their story of how they met at Gifford Hall, reminisced about date nights together downtown, and the numerous runs they took together through the park. He then asked if he could take a few photos of them for the article. They posed for the pictures at Wilson Hall – where just a few years prior they were posing for graduation photos. As he was taking the photos, Anisha turned around and saw Ethan down on one knee with a ring!! She was shocked because up until that moment, she had no idea that he would be proposing! She immediately said yes, quickly realized there was no recital, and they spent the rest of the afternoon walking around campus followed by brunch at their favorite restaurant downtown!

We loved working with their photographer, Audrey Rose!! See more of their photos here

Filming Ethan and Anisha’s wedding was so special for Ty and I! Ethan and I are cousins and spent a lot of time together in our younger childhood days! You can see the way that Anisha lights up his life and her joy and excitement for life are just so contagious. I love these two together and can’t wait to see where life takes them in the future! Enjoy these memories from their beautiful day!
