Ten years ago at McGillan’s Olde Ale House, Erik + Stephanie’s friendship began. But, just like any good love story, theirs has a bit of cliffhanger. Erik moved away from Philly to Rhode Island. And while their friendship still remained, the romantic sparks didn’t really fly. That is until Erik ventured back to Philly to hang out with some friends – and that friends, is when their real love story began!
Fast forward five years – they went on a weekend trip to Meredith, NH with their dogs. Erik knew all along that this would be the weekend that he would propose. He planned for them to go on a hike the first day and had the perfect spot picked out where it would all take place. As they approached the spot to take in the view, Erik grabbed some water out of his backpack for the dogs and also grabbed the ring. Just as he was about to propose, another dog came running up and distracted the moment. After they got the dogs settled down, they looked back out over the lake, and it was then that Erik grabbed Steph’s hands, got down on one knee, and asked her to marry him. And of course, she said YES!
It’s easy to see why these two fit so perfectly together. They both light up whenever the other is around. Steph loves Erik’s sense of humor and his infectious laugh. Erik admires Steph’s sense of humor and her unwavering support. The greatest light in each of their lives is each other – and well…maybe their pups 😉 The life they are building together is so beautiful because it’s so perfectly them.
We’ve heard that Erik is quite the chef and Steph is one heck of a hostess! And by the way she perfectly pieced together their wedding reception (just WAIT until you see it!), I can only imagine! She’s a rockstar!
These twos highest priority on their wedding day was to celebrate their love for one another surrounded by their dearest family and friends. AND, to have one heck of a dance party! I like to think they achieved every bit of that and so much more!
Erik + Steph, it was an honor to have the opportunity to capture your love story! We are so grateful to have gotten to know you guys throughout this past year of your engagement, to your wedding day, and even after! Your love is such a gift to witness! We pray that you continue to find the simple joys in life, like simply just being together, to carry you through for many more years to come! Cheers!!
