Dear Monday, You feel like a “catch up” day today. Doing all the laundry, cleaning up the house from being away for over a week, and prepping for the week ahead! This is not always my favorite way to spend the start of a week, but I’m choosing joy in the midst of all the tedious tasks today!
Dear The OBX, Celebrating the week of Thanksgiving with my family on this little island is like heaven on earth for me! Over the years it’s truly become like a home away from home for us! I’m so grateful to spend a week each year with this bunch reminiscing on the past and looking towards the future together!
Dear Weekend Road Trip, In the last 72 hours, I have driven 24 of them. Me and three of my college DOK besties (we named our apartment the DOK (daughters of the King) in college and lovingly refer to ourselves as the DOK girls) drove to Vermont on Friday to love on another one of our besties. Her mom passed away last Sunday and while the reason for our visit was sad, we were all so grateful to be there for her – especially in this time of the year that focuses so much on family getting together. These three girlfriends mean so much to me and time with them is always so, so good! Very soon there will be a fifth one added to the mix because one of them is pregnant! I already can’t wait to spoil that little love!!
Also, random side note – if you’re ever looking for something to help you pass the time on long road trips, a suspense/mystery audio book is THE way to go! We listened to Ruth Ware’s, “The Woman in Cabin 10“. We were all SO invested in the book which made it super fun to listen to together. We also finished the book on our 12 hour drive home! Win, win!!
Dear Christmas, You have officially arrived at Fireside Drive! I’ll be spending this afternoon decorating the outside of the house and begging Ty to take me to the tree lot to pick out our Christmas tree! I love this time of the year!!
Dear Ty, So about that Christmas tree… ;]
Happy Monday friends! We’re grateful for you! You are the reason we keep showing up here every Monday to talk about our life and weekly life musings. Thanks for joining us so faithfully!!
The idea for Dear Monday developed from a deep love for storytelling. Letter writing kept us close in spirit though thousands of miles kept us physically apart for quite a while throughout our dating relationship. This became the foundation for what our business was built upon. The idea that “true love can go the distance”. And even the seemingly small things like a simple note here or there, two hearts can be connected and a story can be written that is so much more beautiful than our minds can simply dream up.
