Dear Monday, I never say this, but today is the Mondayiest Monday ever. After a week/weekend of life chaos around these parts, I’m grateful for this slower week at home that we have ahead of us! Thank you Lord!!
Dear Summer Reading List, I love lists. There’s nothing better than the feeling of “crossing something off the list”. Amiright?! I’m currently whiddling away at my summer reading list and loving the diversity of books I chose! I’m usually a non-fiction snob but I’m on a fiction kick and loving every minute of it!! If books are you’re thing, circle back on Friday for a look into what I’m reading this summer ;] #shamlessplug #itsfine
Dear #cleoonvacation, You showed up with Daddy Thursday night and it was just a dream come true. I always love to hear about you traveling with Daddy. You guys are the best of buds and I think it’s precious that you ride on his leg the whole trip. But, after Momma showed up a video with this contraption in it, I’m convinced you need one. Merry early Christmas?! Like how cute would it be to see a cat perched in a window sill driving down the road? The cutest!
Dear Home Improvement, Our house has felt a lot like you recently. With Ty filling the role as Tim “The Toolman” Taylor and Daddy filling in for Wilson. Except that Daddy isn’t our neighbor and instead is on a constant phone consult or making the three hour drive back and forth from our house to his. We’ve learned a ton for sure, but mostly that home ownership isn’t for the faint of heart. We’re currently in a season where everything feels like it’s falling a part – rotted subfloor in the half bath downstairs, rotted window sill in our bedroom, dryer hose disconnected from the floor pushing hot air in between the bathroom wall and the laundry room wall creating excess moisture that’s just “hanging out in there”…EW, and the best (insert eye roll here) – siding falling off of our house from a woodpecker drilling into it…constantly. These are all things that we weren’t necessarily aware how “bad” they were until someone showed up (my Dad) who knew something about them. Ooooh naiveté, such a blessing and a curse. We didn’t think we were getting a “fixer upper” when we bought this house three years ago, but it’s certainly is starting to feel like one. Lord, have mercy!!
Dear Ty, We should become “local window seller spokesmodels” with as many window people we’ve had come into our house this past week. Or, we should just have everything measured out and ready to hand out when the next guy arrives. You know how much I hate being “sold” to so I’m grateful you have the guts to let people down easy ;]
Happy Monday friends!! If you’re Monday is feeling a little off kilter, we’re right there with you!! Here’s to beginning again…even at 2PM ;]
The idea for Dear Monday developed from a deep love for storytelling. Letter writing kept us close in spirit though thousands of miles kept us physically apart for quite a while throughout our dating relationship. This became the foundation for what our business was built upon. The idea that “true love can go the distance”. And even the seemingly small things like a simple note here or there, two hearts can be connected and a story can be written that is so much more beautiful than our minds can simply dream up.
