Dear Monday, Today is officially the last day of our mini-vacation visiting my Momma in Tampa and to be honest my heart is already aching thinking about getting on the plane home tomorrow morning. There’s nothing easy about living so far away from your Momma!! I’m counting down the days until her travel contract is up and she’ll be back in the good ‘ole state of Virginny forever!!
Dear Calm the Waters, You guys are amazing!! One of my best friends’ husband, Erik, is the lead singer in this band and seeing them play last week at Jammin’ Java in NOVA was such a treat for Ty and I. Ty grew up going to Jammin’ Java with friends and I went to numerous concerts there while in college. It was so surreal to be back as a married couple supporting one our dearest friends!! Ty got to take some photos of them while they played and he loved it!! If you ever have the opportunity to see one of their shows, do IT!!!
Dear Anna Marie Island, You truly are the quaintest little haven. Over the years I’ve realized more and more that I’m drawn to the slower pace on vacation – ie. the least amount of people and chaos is 100% my jam!! AMI totally fits that bill and was probably my favorite beach of all the beaches I’ve visited along the western coast of Florida!! Also, if you’re looking for the perfect hands free beach bag and round towel combo, this Shop Strands duo is essential to any beach day trip!!
Dear Bern’s Steakhouse, Ty and I have had quite the dining experience while in Tampa this go around. Momma has truly pulled out all the stops and this one will probably be one that we’ll talk about for YEARS. Never have I ever considered starting dinner around 10PM but this was totally worth it! We all got steaks (because that’s obviously their speciality) and each meal is served with french onion soup (I had to skip that course because #dairyallergy), a salad, fresh grilled veggies, and a baked potato. I’ve never heard Ty rave over a meal so much in all my life. Also, when your meal includes a tour of the kitchen and the wine cellar, and you are still glad you ate there = win, win. We rounded out the night in the dessert room which is constructed of California redwood wine holding tanks each equipped with their own stereo sound system. WHAT?! Seriously so crazy!! But it was truly such a memory we’ll never forget!! And a meal we’ll always dream of! Needless to say, if you ever find yourself in Tampa, you HAVE to make a reservation here!!
Dear Ty, Somehow you’ve contracted a cold while we’ve been away from home and somehow I’ve managed not to get it yet. Here’s to hoping that holds true through our journey home!! Sincerely, love yewwww but don’t love ya germs ;]
Happy Monday sweet friends!!!
The idea for Dear Monday developed from a deep love for storytelling. Letter writing kept us close in spirit though thousands of miles kept us physically apart for quite a while throughout our dating relationship. This became the foundation for what our business was built upon. The idea that “true love can go the distance”. And even the seemingly small things like a simple note here or there, two hearts can be connected and a story can be written that is so much more beautiful than our minds can simply dream up.
