Dear Monday, We’re closing the office door today and heading off to the lake with some friends to celebrate the 4th! We aren’t even taking our laptops with us (I can’t believe it!!). Truly “unplugging” doesn’t happen often enough around here during wedding season, but this is the summer I’m working on being more intentional. If you need us, just shoot us an email. I’ll get back to you on Wednesday once we get back in the office!
Dear Fireside Drive, You need a bath. I intended to bring home Daddy’s power washer until it blew up while I was washing off the porch at home (clearly we had quite an interesting weekend with things breaking – ie. see more below). I’ve also officially decided getting new windows is our highest priority. Our house was built throughout 1989 into 1990 and has wood window frames. A little problem was overlooked by our inspector before we moved and us, being super naive and new to the house buying scene, didn’t know any different. So we signed the papers and squealed with delight over our new little space. That is until I started hanging curtains and realized a few of our windows were rotted out on the sides. *insert all the eye rolls here* So alas, here we are, three years later and we still haven’t fixed it. But, not anymore. It’s officially official, a “must do”.
Dear Mountain Living, I grew up this way – being 45 minutes away from the closest grocery store, 1.5 hours from the nearest mall, 30 minutes from the closest fast food restaurant. Going back home brings about the sweetest nostalgia on living a little slower. That is until your oven blows up and you realize you can’t really just “hop down the road” for an alternative meal option. Thankfully, Momma hoards griddles because we always forget ours at home every Thanksgiving so we have a plethora on deck. Breakfast was saved by that little griddle friends! Moral of the story – always keep cereal on hand and maybe a back up griddle as well ;]
Dear 4th of July, One, I can’t believe it’s already July. Two, I’m so glad you’re here!! You’re by far my favorite holiday of the year!! Why? Because you always feel like the real start of summer for me, which is of course, my favorite season! I also love hot dogs (I know, they’re gross, just don’t talk about it), which are clutch for the perfect 4th celebration, and spending time with friends and family which also always happens around this time every year. It’s just a win, win in my books with fireworks to top it all off! Just can’t be beat, friends!
Dear Ty, You’re the only person I know that would prioritize packing games for a trip over anything else. We’re loaded down with kan jam, settlers, multiple packs of cards, and even ticket to ride. With you around, we definitely we won’t be short on fun ;]
Happy Monday friends and Happy almost 4th of July!! I hope you have a great week!
The idea for Dear Monday developed from a deep love for storytelling. Letter writing kept us close in spirit though thousands of miles kept us physically apart for quite a while throughout our dating relationship. This became the foundation for what our business was built upon. The idea that “true love can go the distance”. And even the seemingly small things like a simple note here or there, two hearts can be connected and a story can be written that is so much more beautiful than our minds can simply dream up.
