Dear Monday, I woke up before the sun this morning because I was having the worst nightmare. There are a lot of things I don’t understand in life – nightmares are one of them. I feel like as an adult they shouldn’t exist, haha! So of course I took to Google first thing this morning to ask all the questions. Did you know that your body temperate can affect whether you dream or not? So interesting.
Dear Home Renovations, I now understand how some people begin a renovation and then they end up going undone forever. It’s a lot of work!! If you follow us on Instagram, you saw two weeks ago that I finally got the wild hair to begin working on our bathroom downstairs. After living here at #firesidedrive for three years now and having an ever growing list of things we should update or change, we’re finally getting started! Now I just need Daddy to get here to help me finish this thing, haha!
Dear Four Years of Marriage, You’ve gone by so fast!! Ty and I celebrated our anniversary last Thursday in Charlottesville. It has quickly become “our place” to celebrate every year because our anniversary falls right in the middle of the busiest time of our season. So Charlottesville is close enough for a quick day trip and we love it!! This year we stayed at our friends’ cabin (Cabin in Ivy). If you’re traveling through Charlottesville and looking for a quaint place to relax, we can’t recommend it enough! Also, the Crosé at King Family Vineyards, just get it. It’s SO good!!
Dear Small Great Things, If you’re looking for an incredible summer read, I can’t recommend this book by Jodi Picoult enough. It’s based off a true story and is probably one of the most life changing books I’ve ever read. The issues in it are so important and definitely are not talked about enough. Read it!
Dear Ty, We should have went on our picnic yesterday. 100% thunderstorms today. The worsttttt.
Happy Monday sweet friends!! We hope you have the best start to your week today! I’m off to apply one more coat on spackle to the bathroom (SO many holes!) before hitting the office this morning!
The idea for Dear Monday developed from a deep love for storytelling. Letter writing kept us close in spirit though thousands of miles kept us physically apart for quite a while throughout our dating relationship. This became the foundation for what our business was built upon. The idea that “true love can go the distance”. And even the seemingly small things like a simple note here or there, two hearts can be connected and a story can be written that is so much more beautiful than our minds can simply dream up.
